5 years old!

Welp. It happened. My sweet "bunkin bo" (spicer's nickname as a baby). My first born. The one who made me a mother. Turned the big "5" years old last week! 5. Such a big number. So many things come with the age of 5. The main thing being "kindergarten." Eek! But, we will cross that bridge when we get there! Just want to take some time to share some things about my sweet Spicer Beth for now. Spicer fits her name perfectly. She is the spice of life! She enjoys pretty much everything (except for maybe going to crossfit and waiting on mommy, hehe). Bless her. Jared and I are still new at the parenting thing when it comes to her. She's the first to deal with our parenting flaws. Spicer is such a great friend. She has so many good friends and she loves them so much. With that love sometimes comes hurt feelings but they always mend quickly. ;) Spicer loves God. She enjoys praying and going to church. She likes reading bible stories together. Everything she is, is because of Him. She recently asked me and Jared to buy some toys for the children of the world who do not have toys before we buy her toys. Jared said, well what if we run out of money before we can buy you toys?" She said, that's ok. Such a big thing for a girl who's only 5. Spicer loves her daddy. Anytime they get to go hang out just the two of them she's on cloud 9. Spicer loves her mommy. We enjoy our "girl" time together, especially mani's and pedi's! Spicer loves her brother. Axl and Spicer can fight like no other two kids I've ever seen but they can also love each other like no other two kids I've ever seen! and. The fighting has slowed down the older they get and the closer they get. they are best buds! Spicer loves her baby sister. Judah Lou could just sit and watch Spicer and Axl play for hours. Spicer loves to hold her. Sometimes big sis is a little ornery with little sis but they love each other so much. Spicer says Judah is the cutest little baby she's ever seen. Spicer loves her Ma, Nanny and Papaw. She just lights up when she's with them. She loves her aunts and uncles. She enjoys gymnastics and dance. Spicer is precious. ornery. quick whitted. spontaneous. imaginative. kind. loving. joyful. happy. smart. adventurous. strong. athletic. pretty. Spicer is Spicer and that's what I love most about her! Recently Spicer has been asking questions about Salvation. The other night she said, "What's that "saving" thing?" You know, the thing they talk about at church. :) Praise God he is preparing her heart for choosing his free gift of salvation. I pray the Holy Spirit hovers over her and draws her heart toward him. We want her to choose Christ because that's her choice, not because that's what mommy and daddy want or because she thinks that's the right thing to do. We want it to be a genuine understanding of Christ's love for her and in return a genuine love for Christ. I pray the Holy Spirit leads Jared and I and gives discernment for what to share and when to share it with her young moldable heart. I love how God uses his Spirit to help us. Especially when we ourselves have absolutely no idea how we should answer. He gives us the words to say. Praise His name! We pray the Lord makes miss Spicer Beth a mighty warrior for him in this dark evil world we live. I pray she always has a close genuine relationship with Jesus. One where she knows he is her best friend. Where she knows he leads and guides her and trusts deeply in him. I pray she is a leader for Him. A leader and role model for Christ. At home. At church. At school. At gymnastics. And wherever this life takes her. To God be the glory! So, happy 5th birthday to our beautiful (inside and out) Spicer Beth! We love you our sweet daughter. You're our favorite 5 year old! ;)
