girls day... just me and sb!

Just me and SB headed to OKC today for a very sweet little boy's birthday party! We had a such a great "girls" day (because daddy had to work and well i just didn't think i could make it to OKC w/ both the kiddos by myself)! Every time Spicer talked about today she always said, "mommy we're having a girl's day! Just me and you!" Then she would say because we're girls and not boys! lol! love. her!

these two don't get to see each other near enough, but each time they are together they remember each other and play well together and I think that's so sweet!


We love the Roye family and sure do miss getting to run up the road to see them. Now, we run up the road a few hours to see them, rather than a few minutes! ha! :) God is good and we are so thankful for all the wonderful friends he's blessed us with!

miss independent!

My sweet little 3 year old is growing up way to fast for me! She is becoming so independent these days, way to independent! She now prefers to buckle herself completely into her car seat, pick out and put on all her clothes (she really likes this), brush her own teeth (eek!), get her own snack and drink, and pick up the mess she made (love this!)! All of these things she insists on doing herself, and by insist I mean, throw a fit if i don't let her at least try! I love her independence and her firey spirit! She's going to be one tough gal with passion for life! A lot like daddy! :)

Spicer Beth is oh so sweet too! Such a great little combo of independence, fire (messpotness as i call it) and sweetness! She has really been doing so great with Axl. She gets him toys, (sometimes takes them too, lol) and sees about him when he's crying. I can ask her to get me anything or do anything for him and she hops to it! She sure does love her little brother! Lately she's been talking about me having a baby sister for her too. She says she needs two little siblings! ha! She told me yesterday that she likes it when i have a big belly! I just smile and tell her "we will see what God has for us!" We're open to another or how ever many more, just don't know that this gal will bear them! ha! She might get another sibling but might not get mommy with a big belly again! Not because i don't like it, but because of health issues in pregnancy.

The other night SB was being pretty loud in bed. Axl was asleep next to her. So i hurried in to quiet her down. I said Spicer you need to be quiet because you don't want to wake brother. She said, "but mommy, i was just talking to my Jesus!" Oh how that warmed this momma's heart! just talking to my Jesus! precious! Doesn't get much better than that!

Love my sweet fireball daughter! She's the best! Thank you Jesus for choosing me to be her mommy!

Wednesday, we headed down to Hot Springs to see my best friend Miss Lindsey! Oh how I love her! She is my kindred spirit once in a life time friend! Just don't know what I'd do without her! We met my freshmen year of college and have pretty much been the best of friends since! I'm so thankful God blessed me with a friend like her! She's the kind you can tell anything too, I mean anything and everything too! And usually she's just gone through what I'm going through or vice versa! God teaches us a lot together! She is the most Godly woman I know! Seriously! And encourages me to grow closer to the Lord! If you met the girl, you would love her and feel like you've known her your entire life! She's just that awesome! We don't get to see each other near enough because we live about 3 hours apart, but when we do it's like i just saw her yesterday! Love it!
God blessed our day with the most amazing weather! We shopped downtown Hot Springs and ate some good food! The thing I was most excited about was seeing her boutique. Last year, she and her mom, took over ownership of a boutique in down town Hot Springs, Madison's Closet! Wednesday was my first time to see it and I was very impressed! It is super cute with super cute clothes and accessories! I just had to buy a few shirts, of course! Very reasonably priced! I know she will do so well with this! She's loving it! I left wanting to move to Hot Springs and go into business with her! ;)
Love ya bunches Lindsey! You're the best! Thanks for such a great day! We can't wait for the next!

7 months!

This little cutie turned 7 months old this past Sunday! 7 dad-gum months! How the flip did that happen?! Time surely is flying even faster with my second born.
Axl is such a happy little bundle of joy! He loves to be tickled and played with. He loves trying to pull things apart. He really likes to have someone in the same room as him! lol! Sometimes that someone just has to be momma! He loves playing with big sister too though! He is an unsupported sitter now! yay! and has started moving all over the place. The other night he got up on all fours and I thought, oh know! the crawling is about to commence! I expect that within the next week or so. For now, he just scoots backward! ha! I remember SB doing this. He still prefers standing though! Sometimes i literally have to force him to sit! The kid is super strong! Guess he will be built like daddy! :)
His sleeping has gotten better. He has to be flexible with naps during the day because we're so busy with big sister! I'm glad he's an easy baby. He naps here in there around the same times each day. His naps are usually between 30 and 45 minutes. Every now and then he'll take an extra long nap. (Which I love!) At night, we've moved him to his bed. Jared took the nap nanny to his shop so it wouldn't even be an option! ha! it was really jacking Axl's neck up! So, we've had a few long nights the past few weeks but he's doing much better in his bed now. And with not eating at night. I know, I know! SB was sleeping 12 hours a night at 10 weeks old! Axl, has still been eating at night! My bad! Guess i've just gotten more lax this time. It's been harder for me to let him cry it out! But we've had to this week and it's worked wonders! Should have done it a few months ago! It was just easier to stick a bottle in his mouth. :) In the evening, I feed him his last bottle (without rocking!) and lay him in his bed and he goes right to sleep now! thankful for this! I had to rock SB to sleep until she was 15 months old!
He started eating meat this month and loves him some beef! He's always been a good eater, thus the 20 or so lbs he weighs at 7 months! I love his rolly polly arms and thick legs! :)
Another something he loves... he loves for me to clean his ears! It's like he's getting a massage each time! He also loves bath time. He enjoys chewing on a wet rag while i scrub him! :)
He's became pretty objective this month. He basically stands up, bows his back and screams each time I put him in his car seat! yikes! He also doesn't like for me to change his diaper or his clothes. He's constantly fighting me on this! So I've learned to make it a game!
Overall my little 7 month old is a good combination of fiesty, sweet and laid back! I just love him! :) God is good!

beautiful february weather!

This winter has been nothing short of awesome! We've hardly had any really cold days and just one day of snow! I love it! I'm a warm weather gal so this winter has fit perfectly with me! It's hard to believe that we're having 60 degree weather in February! The kids and I are loving it! We LOVE to play outside on nice pretty days, but then again, who doesn't! Axl is loving his walker. We put him in it for the first time the other day and he happily played in that thing for an hour or so! Of course, we were outside so that might be another reason why he liked it so much. He loves it outside! He kept giggling each time he inched the walker a little closer to me!

Spicer has been such a big helper around the house lately! The girl is becoming a pro at folding dish towels! She started out rolling them but then watched me a few times and now she does it almost perfectly! We need to keep this laundry thing going! (it's probably my least favorite chore so I'll happily pass it on to her! lol!) Mr. got in his high chair at Ma's house for the first time the other day! He loves it! He knows he's big! Isn't it so funny how they just know it! AWESOME!

I know i've said it before but I'll say it again, I absolutely love being a mommy! I always knew I would, just didn't realize how much until now! When they bible says Children are a blessing from the Lord, it sure is right! (like the bible would be wrong?!) But seriously, I can see why people just keep popping the kids out! Each one truly is a HUGE blessing from the Lord!

Great Grandma Eula Mae Spicer (whom SB is named after) passed away on Jan. 29. She was 85! She lived a life of service to the Lord! She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman to the tee! We surely are missing her and will continue to miss her each day but we have confidence that she is with sweet Jesus having a jolly good time worshiping Him! We sported our best for her "home going celebration of life" service! She would be so proud of her little sweeties looking their best for her! :)


I celebrated my 28th birthday this past Saturday! Yay! It's hard to believe that I'm 28! What's even harder for me to believe is my senior class will have our 10 year reunion in May! What the flip?! I'm so thankful though for these 28 years of life. I'm thankful that the Lord Jesus has been with me all those years, teaching me and guiding me! What a blessing! He has blessed me beyond belief and I'm so undeserving but very very thankful! I'm excited about serving him this year! On a simpler note Jared says I'm having a late twenties crisis! lol! (He's totally joking btw! He jokes like that! :) I colored my hair dark, started a new workout program and have been tanning! ha! Really I'm happier than ever and loving life! God is good! Oh and if you were wondering what the new darker hair looks like, well... here ya go:

My little man has had rsv (ugh) this week. It's the dreaded illness that i've feared since SB was born! it wasn't too bad until he began running fever on Monday. We took him to the doctor on Tues. and I just knew he would need to be admitted to the hospital! He was just pitiful! After a chest x-ray and some blood work we discovered he had an ear infection along with the rsv! I was very thankful that was what was causing the fever and not pneumonia! God is good and Axl is doing much better! PTL! Little miss started running fever last night... you know that's how it goes! Took her to the doctor today and she too has RSV! But who says you can't have fun with RSV! lol! Love my sweet kiddos! They are so good even when they're sick!

6 months!

Sweet Axl turned 6 months old last week (1-26-12)! I'm just getting around to posting due to the passing of Jared's sweet grandma this past Sunday. It's been a bitter sweet week around here. I'll post all about Jared's grandma soon but for now I'll stick with our little six month old!

Height: 26 1/2 inches
Weight: 19 lbs 3.5 ounces of rolly pollyness! :)
Food: All kinds of stuff! Carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, peas, rice cereal, bananas and some meat. He loves it all! Formula -Enfamil A.R. for babies who Spit (about 4-6 ounces every 3 or 4 hours).
Sleep: Wow! Sleeping has been something else lately! He usually goes to sleep around 7:30 for the night. But then, he has been waking a few times each night and not going back to sleep until he gets a bottle or just wants to stay awake for a bit! What the flip? lol! However, the past couple of nights he seems to be sleeping much better and slept until 6:15 and then last night 4:15. Much better than waking 2 or 3 times a night! It's time to get out of the nap nanny and into the crib but he's so spoiled to it! I've got a feeling i'm going to be one tired momma this next week trying to break him in! ;)
Clothes: 9-12 months size 3 shoes
New stuff: sitting up on his own pretty good he still needs something behind him because sometimes he likes to swing back all the sudden! Pulls to standing! He loves to stand! Still wobbly but sometimes he can balance himself for a couple of seconds without support! He is scooting around a little when on belly. He's not too big of a fan of tummy time though. This is exactly how spicer was. He gets pretty frustrated when he is trying to get a toy and can't! He looks like a sky diver a lot of the time! lol! Sometimes it sounds like he's saying mama when he's upset!
Favorites: He loves big sister! He enjoys Praise Baby and Baby Einstein. Loves his swing! He likes his exersaucer and sit and play. He has started going for toys during tummy time. He can roll from back to belly. He has rolled from belly to back but nothing consistent. He's just pretty darn easy to please! Such a laid back boy! He loves to squeal! and we love hearing him squeal! Oh and he loves loves loves giving open mouth kisses on the cheek! Mommy loves this too! so so sweet! He's rather stand than do anything else!

*We had a good check up this month. Dr. Jon always says how social and happy he is! He always says how social he will be as a child! Dr. Jon is referring us to a physical therapist to help stretch out his neck. He tends to hold it to one side (a result of sleeping the same way every night in the nap nanny, another reason we must bid farewell to our good friend). Other than that we'll go to children's in april to have his bump scanned to know for sure what it is. Not looking forward to that. He will need to be sedated. God is good. He is faithful. and I know he'll take care of it!

Thank you Jesus for a happy healthy baby boy! We adore you Axl Joe! :) You just fit right in with us!
